The Week in Review
So it is now Thursday and I haven't posted all week. I apologize, but things have been a little hectic here this week.
Let's start at the beginning. For a Monday, I have to say that this past Monday turned into a stellar time. I was hanging around the hall getting ready to read my book, when I got an invite to play Cranium with some guys and gals down the hall. There were about 15 of us stuffed into a little dorm room (and these are not small people...me and Karen were the only ones under 6'0''). I had never played the game before, but found it to be a blast! Unfortunately my team was somehow behind, even though we were pulling some answers out of our you-know-what. The game was forever long...from about 9-11, and after security came by for the second time we all had to move to the common area to finish it out. Somehow my team made an amazing comeback, but alas, we still did not win. We lost to two California boys and one NC guy....not saying much for the other teams to have them beat us.
After the game someone mentioned our beloved finish line. After rallying some of the other interns that were hanging around we decided to head on over. Props go to Karen for suggesting "Let's Hear it for the Boys" from Footloose....one of my all time favorite soundtracks growing up. Even though I didn't have a drop to drink I was definitely blaring at the top of my lungs and dancing around the bar singing to my heart's content.
Tuesday needless to say was a struggle. We didn't have to go to work that day because we had CPR and First Aid training at the OTC. I definitely was a little tired and A LOT cranky, but I managed to get certified. Mary and I enjoyed a nice 3 hour nap directly after the eight-hour training session, which was very enjoyable.
Yesterday evening was bballin time. I think I broke the record for the most consecutive bad passes. We had a good group though who just loved to razz me about not guarding Matt, who could throw just about anything up last night and have it go in. If only my shot had the same luck.
Last night we decided to go bowling. The only thing that I'm going to say about that is that I averaged a 100 in my two games. Everyone else probably averaged at least 150!
So today I am excited because the Men's World University Games basketball players are coming to the OTC. First off, I can't wait to catch a glimpse of their practice. Second- Patrick Sparks from UK is going to be training and I would at least like to see him/meet him. I think they are staying on the floor below us.
That's all I have for now. No plans for this weekend just yet. I have to volunteer Saturday for the state games, but other than that I may just go where the wind takes me.
I only have 2 weeks left....BIG bummer...I'm going to miss the friendships I've made here.
