I'm Back!
January 28, 2009
In my attempt to do something stress relieving I ended up doing the most frustrating thing imaginable, accidentally deleting an entire blog post that I was quite proud of. *Inner scream!*
I found my old blog that I haven't touched in 3 years. It's like opening the treasure chest of memories that we all had tucked away under our bed or hidden in our closet. It was so fun to go back through the online account of one of the most amazing and memorable summers I've ever had. Typically I'm not one to make New Year's resolutions, but I've been a little melancholy the past year so I decided to make a resolution to focus on doing the things that make me happy. Although I'll never be a phenomenal or award winning writer, it is one of the things that I enjoy and that allows me to be my random self.
One of my latest obsessions... One Tree Hill, Season 3. I know, I know, on that note most of you have probably already hit a new tab to start searching for something else more interesting or to change your facebook status to "Bored." I got hooked on reruns of this show (season 6, the big jump ahead 4 years) when Adam was in Europe for 8 months. Recently I discovered that Soap Net...yes Soap Net, plays reruns of old seasons. During season 3 one of the great couples of the show are split up. Watching the dynamic and tension between this couple who are obviously still in love is so much fun to watch. Although, I'll admit that I love a good romance novel, so perhaps this is why I like the show so much. My only problem is that they only show 3 episodes every Sunday, so i'm left with a huge cliff hanger for a week. My youngest sister Sam said she would disown me if I bought the season on DVD so there you go. It has to be noted that the show does border on cheese, but with the stress of our every day jobs and with the media pushing doom and gloom down our throats every day, I could do with a little bit of cheese to end the day.
My real obsession. Gossip Girl. I know, I know, it sounds ridiculous and my husband just doesn't understand this one. I have to say it has something to do with the complete lack of a moral compass that most of the characters have. This sense of compelte selfishness is so entertaining to watch. You find yourself rooting for the villians of the show, although they are usually difficult to distinguish from the good guys. As my sister and I have realized, we think we all have a little bit of Blair and Serena in us, and there's nothing wrong with that.
Hopefully I'll manage to keep this one and only resolution that I made.
Until next time.
